Travel and Tourism Costs and Information​​​

 

Basic Costs – Essentials:  Airfare, Accommodations, Restaurants, Rental Cars

Airfare:

$300-$500 coach to Los Cabos International Airport or La Paz Airport

Accommodations:

Hotels - The following hotels have been utilized by Rotary clubs from the states in recent years:

Check a map for location of hotels.  Some are not close to our meeting points and restaurants and are outside the town.  Also, a tourist tax will be added at all hotels.  Prices are lower in January and early February.

Telephone Reservations and Questions:

Calling from the U.S.:  dial 011, then the number in Mexico.

Calling a number when in Baja Sur:  dial 1 52 before the number.

Rental Cars and gas:

Available at the Los Cabos International Airport:

  • Easiest way to reserve a car:  Google car rentals at the Los Cabos International Airport.  You’ll also get phone numbers and other info.
  • Prices vary by season and where you rent from.  Current prices range from $40-50 per day for a mid-size car.  Find out about insurance also – it may or may not be covered by your existing car insurance.
  • Cost of gas = $4 per liter

Restaurants:

LOTS of good restaurants in Los Barriles

Optional Costs – Exploring Baja:

  1. Visit a charming & very small town of El Triunfo, well-preserved former mining town with lots of history and shops, restaurants, and a mining museum
  2. Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park – snorkeling in the bay and view coral reef; pristine beaches located between Pulmo Point in the north and Los Failes in the south
  3. ATV’s – Sergio’s ATV’s and Eric at Baja Car Rental. (ATV’s also called Quad Dog Adventures)
  4. Do a Google search to get more details for activities:  enter Los Barriles, Mexico or click on list that comes up Los Barriles, Baja California, Mexico.  Look on the right column of the webpage and click “Things to do”.

How to Register

Ready to join us and sign up for a wonderful Rotary experience?  First, your club must donate a minimum of $250 to the funding of this project for club members to be eligible.  Covid-19 vaccination is required also.
